Can you believe it?

I feel like I’ve been hollering about this book for years.

Remember when I told you to hold on to your preorder info because I would have some thank-you gifts to send your way?

That day is here!

I have a few gifts to share with those who preorder before June 25. They are:

1. A companion reading guide that goes along with OTHERED. You know how some authors include a discussion guide inside the book? Well, I wanted to do that, but I was really trying to abide by the contracted word count with my publisher. So, instead of including a discussion guide inside the book, I have one available for those who preorder before June 25. (For inquiring minds, the companion guide can function either as a group discussion guide or as a personal journaling guide. It’s a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure situation.)

2. A printable “Blessed Are the Othered” prayer labyrinth. You can print this labyrinth as much as you’d like and tuck it inside a journal or wherever your heart desires. I also have a limited number of prayer labyrinth stickers available! You’ll have a chance to provide your mailing address should you like one of those.

3. An invitation to the OTHERED Book Club. Instead of a book launch team, I opted to host a book club where we could read through OTHERED together; the focus is less on marketing and more on reading-with and experiencing-alongside. We’ll be going through the companion guide (mentioned above) in the Book Club. (The OTHERED Book Club will be hosted on Substack.com, so you might be interested in familiarizing yourself with Substack on a computer or downloading the Substack App and opt into to notifications from the OTHERED Substack. More on the Book Club below.)

Book Club Info

When It’s Happening: May 20 to June 30 (it’s all happening on Substack!)

How It Works: The plan is to send out a Book Club email once a week on Monday for the 6 weeks.

When you fill out the preorder form to download your goodies (the button I mentioned above), you’ll share your email address with me. I’ll add your email address to the “paid subscribers” section of my Substack, which is how I’m keeping the Book Club more private. Those who have preordered will have a FREE access to the paid section for (at least) three months!

Preorderers will also be sent instructions on how to download a digital copy of OTHERED so you can read ahead for the Book Club (the Book Club is prior to launch).

The email I send each week for the Book Club will highlight the chapters we’ll be reading for that week and the companion questions. When you’re done reading, you can share thoughts in the comments of the Substack post.

(Even if you can’t read at the same pace, feel free to engage the questions and comments in the Substack post. I don’t want this to feel like homework.)

Here’s a glimpse at what we have in store for the Book Club:

The hope is to have a large group ZOOM call sometime mid-July (tentatively July 16th at 7pm CDT, 8pm EDT, 5pm PDT).

My heart was to have multiple ZOOM calls, but I worried that too many of us might be busy traveling throughout the summer, so I settled on one big celebratory call later with time for Q&A.
