Hi!
I’m looking forward to chatting with you all as you read through Othered.
Each week for the next six weeks I’ll share more on the chapters were covering, why writing those chapters were important to me, and other fun behind-the-scenes stuff. Beyond the post itself, I’ll share some extras in the comments each week.
This week is simply an intro week. I want to ensure you have access to the eBook via NetGalley. (If you’re having problems, send a question via the comments here!)
I also want to introduce you to my friend and Book Club co-facilitator,
Rachel will be helping me answer your questions, but she’ll also be responding to the things you might share in the comments!
I’m coming into Week 1 of the OTHERED Book Club a bit frenetic. It’s the end of the school year and the Houston area is still recovering from the fallout of a derecho (+ tornadoes) that swept through on May 16th, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands in 90*F weather (or 32.2*C for metric system friends).
I’ve also had some panicked feelings on publishing. (More on this in the comments.)
All this to say, if you’re coming into the OTHERED Book Club feeling frazzled, scattered, or overwhelmed, I’m with you. And I’m looking forward to making space for one another.
What to Expect for Week 1:
Read the INTRO to Othered, “An Invitation for the Othered”
